Deanna Marin, M.A.
Behavioral Program Manager
Deanna Marin is a Behavioral Program Manager for the South Bay Team. Her journey began in 2015 when she was accepted into the Biomedical Engineering Program at San Jose State University. Her goal was to improve one's quality of life through research and development of biomedical devices for children with physical disabilities. She discovered a new passion for working directly with children; at that point, the trajectory of her education shifted, and in 2020, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science. Upon graduation, Deanna started her career as a Registered Behavior Technician in 2020. Deanna continued her studies, earning her Master's degree in Applied Behavior Practice in 2023. She is currently working toward earning her Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
During her career, Deanna has worked with children and adolescents aged 2-18 in various settings. She mentored and trained school staff, collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to effectively implement Individual Educational Plans (IEPs), orchestrated Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) for classroom settings, and facilitated social skills groups with peers ages 5-18.
Working with children is one of Deanna's greatest joys. She enjoys collaborating with other professionals, providing services unique to the client, and is grateful to be a part of her clients' growth, whether it be successfully transitioning to a classroom, voicing their needs, or building peer relationships.
She deeply values the trust and partnership built among the clients and parents, is passionate about prioritizing family concerns in the client's best interest, and is devoted to making a positive impact in the lives of children and their families, helping them gain independence to help them navigate through the daily challenges of life — all while having a blast, of course!
Deanna moved to the Bay area 8 years ago and enjoys its vibrancy and diversity, embracing the food culture, historic architecture, iconic landmarks, and natural beauty. Some of her favorite hobbies have been exploring caves near the coast and finding new restaurants with culinary sensations. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, and cuddling with her husky, Shilo.
